Amber Fort

It is often pronounced as Amer Fort is UNESCO’s World Heritage Site located around 11 km from the city center. Originally it was a small structure owned by the Meena tribe of Rajasthan and later won by the Rajputs. Later it was transformed into a grand palace by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and construction completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh. The Palace is entirely made of red stones and marbles. The view of lake Maota in front of the Fortress makes it even more splendid. 

City Palace

It is situated in the heart of the city and was constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II. Later it was expanded by other rulers as well. It is still the home to the last descendent of the Royal family, which still lives in the private section of the Palace. The whole Palace is divided into small complexes like Mubaraka Mahal, Rani Mahal, etc. Part of it is converted into a museum where you can see the royal costumes from various parts of India like Pashmina Shawls from Kashmir, Banarasi Sarees, Sangneri prints, and folk embroidery, etc. The ceiling of the Palace also displays beautiful paintings that easily throb your heart. 

Hawa Mahal

The iconic building of Jaipur can be seen from far away from roads. Hawa Mahal is also called “Palace of Winds” and was constructed by King Sawai Pratap Singh, also known as the poet king. He created this massive five-story building for his family to enjoy the summer of Jaipur. The small latticed windows, also known as the ‘Jharokhas,’ act as an air conditioner for the whole building that blows the cool winds inside the Mahal, making it the perfect summer destination. 

Jaigarh Fort

As suggested by the name, this marvelous Fort was also made by Maharaja Jai Singh II, situated approximately 15 km from the town. It is located on rocky hills covered with thorn scrubs. It also serves as the home to the world’s largest cannon known as Jaiban. Despite being its old construction, the Forts retain its aged appearance till now. 

Jantar Mantar

It is the biggest and one of the five astronomical sites built by Sawai Raja Jai Singh II situated in Jaipur. It was designed to measure time, track and observe the orbits of various planets and celestial bodies with sixteen geometric devices. The interpretation center is also there to help tourists to understand the working of all the devices.
